Best of luck to all athletes; should anyone not be able to run but will be around, then please let Vaughan know if they could step in and help out on the evening.
Congratulations to all 211 athletes who participated in this evenings’ Grand Prix 2 and thank you so very much to everyone that gave up their time to help organise, marshall, assist and support the event.
Please find attached the results from this evenings’ fun, on a blustery evening (but significantly nicer than last year!).
Thank you to everyone for clearly displaying their numbers and moving through the funnel quickly at the finish; it’s seriously appreciated.
Please see the handicaps ahead of GP2, which will be held on 3rd October 2023 at 7pm (first runner off), from the regular start point next to the large car park opposite the Brierdene Pub on Whitley Bay Links.
Good evening all, please see the results of Blyth Links 10K, GP1 of our new season. In total there were 209 GP runners on the evening, a record attendance! Congratulations to each and every one and thank you so much to all those who gave up their time to support the evening and of course a special thanks to Ralph and the team at Blyth RC.
The results are now available for the Blyth Links 10k (Grand Prix #1). Ivan will calculate the results based on your blind handicaps and they will be posted here in a few days time. Many thanks for your patience.
Many thanks to Blyth Running Club for hosting the first race of the season and it was great to see a mass of red vests with a sprinkling other club colours. The results of the first race are processed by Blyth Running Club and this usually takes a couple of days. Results and handicaps for the October run will be posted here when they are available. Don’t forget to keep hold of your race number as it is required for the entire season.
Update 31st August: At the present time we are still waiting for the results from Blyth Running Club. They will be posted here as soon as they are available.
Vaughan Hemy (photo below) will be present at the Dave Stephenson Centre from 6.00 p.m. and team captains (or their representative) can collect the team numbers from him. Don’t forget to bring your own safety pins. Parking at the South Beach Car Park is likely to be very busy so aim to car share if possible and allow plenty of time before the race. The race start is at 7.00 p.m. There is plenty of parking at the Links Car Park between Seaton Sluice and Blyth South Beach. This is around one mile from the Dave Stephenson Centre and will give you a warm up/cool down if you park here. A map of the course is also shown below. We look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 29th August
The attached pdf shows the members of each team and their race numbers. We hope you are looking forward to running on 29th August. Team numbers can be collected from the Dave Stephens Centre at the South Beach Car Park on the night.
Clicking on a story title will reveal the entire contents. PDF can be viewed/downloaded on a computer. If viewing on a mobile device you will see a download link.
Many thanks to all teams and runners who have entered the 2022/23 Grand Prix. We have a record 36 teams entered (288 runners). Team Captains can pick up the numbers for their teams at the Blyth 10k on Tuesday 29th August. Don’t forget you will need to keep the same number for the whole season and this must be clearly visible at all times when you are running. If any of your runners drop out or become injured prior to the first Grand Prix, please let me know and you can substitute a new runner as part of your team. No changes can be made after GP1. I will verify all submitted times prior to GP1.
Can all team captain’s please ensure their team members complete the registration form. At the present time the teams listed below are incomplete. I’ve added the names of the people who have completed their registration forms. If your team is not listed below all of your runners have completed their registration forms.
